| Oni This demon is hard to under stand when it finally shows up. It is not really clear what this demons job is, other then it is the one who lures kids into playing the game of O-to-ko-yo, and is the one that is "it" during the game. To understand this demon take a better look at the poster that Yaimao and Hikora look at in the movie. It shows a fox with a collar and its chains are linked to the other demons. The fifth demon, in my opinion, is an angry fox spirit trapped in a fox mask; and is being used by the demons to get pray, possibly it takes a host and to justify its position it makes the kids wear fox masks... such are the kids being used to light the town, the fifth demon is used by the demons to get the kids. Also the name of the demon "Oni" which translates as Ogre, is also translated in Japanese as "it" during a game of Hide and Seek. This demon takes over Sorincha's body and then later takes over Hikora at the end of the movie. |
